Lizuart De Sousa is our summer season director. He is a freelance musician and has performed and recorded with several bands and groups in the Greater Toronto Area over the last two decades. He has performed and recorded with Andre Bisson, The Loretta Hale Big Band, Diego Marulanda & Pacande, The GTA Swing Band and The Oakville Portuguese Philharmonic Orchestra, to mention only a few.

Lizuarte earned his Bachelor of Music from McMaster University and is also a graduate of the Humber College Music Program, where he studied saxophone under the tutelage of Pat LaBarbera and Mark Promane.

Lizuarte is the creator and conductor if the Lakeside Wind Ensemble (LWE), a community music ensemble. The LWE is a new and exciting instrumental ensemble in the Burlington area that hopes to create a musical environment that is open to musicians of all ages.

Lizuarte De Sousa continues to be an active educator and performer in the local community and always looks forward to sharing his passion and love of music.
