I was lucky enough to be part of an orchestra from Grade 6-Grade 13. It was the highlight of my school life but I was never able to recapture the joy of these young musical experiences in my adult life. Enter the New Horizons band. When I retired from teaching, I decided that, although I’d never played a band instrument, it was time to learn and New Horizons has given me the opportunity to do that. It is a welcoming group that accepts musicians at whatever level they are at and a band leader whose joy and passion for music is infectious. Playing with New Horizons every week has been a highlight of my retirement! Joanne
